There are only a few days left before the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are officially launched along with MIUI 13 in China. The device will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and is said to use a Leica lens. However, last weekend, the actual image of the two devices appeared on the Weibo page denying some of the rumors heard before.
First of all, only the Xiaomi 13 has a flat side design like the iPhone 14, while the 13 Pro still has rounded sides and a curved screen. This is disappointing for us because curved screens will no longer be so practical in 2022.
On the camera side, the design of a larger bump like the image of the time of day has been confirmed on both models. On the 13 Pro the size of the camera lens is obviously bigger and the bump is also bigger. The camera configuration is still tri-camera but no Leica branding can be seen. With this image said to be taken during a session with the media, it may be that the Xiaomi 13 series will not use Leica lenses as advertised.
Finally, the texture of the back of the 13 Pro looks rougher like a vegan leather finish that is popular among Chinese manufacturers. This will reduce the issue of dirty and slippery panels when held. With the launch taking place on December 1st, the validity of the image above will only be known in a matter of days.
