Every day more and more devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip are being released by manufacturers. This includes Xiaomi which has now confirmed that it will use it on its new smartphone line, the Xiaomi 13. This was revealed publicly through its new update on Weibo just now.
As is known, there are two different model variations to be introduced under this series which includes Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. Therefore, it cannot be ascertained whether Xiaomi will use the chip in both models or vice versa. But we can expect the pro variant to definitely come with better internal hardware than the standard one.
For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is Qualcomm's most powerful flagship chip offered on Android devices to date. The use of 4nm technology is still maintained, but it has an increase of CPU up to 35%, GPU up to 25% and is able to save power consumption up to 40% compared to the previous generation.
Among other features that will also be loaded on this new Xiaomi device include a leather-based finish that promises a better user experience. It also comes with an IP68 waterproof rating for added protection. More information will be revealed in the near future, let's all look forward to it.
