The United States Is Said to Want to Force TikTok to Sell Its Operations in the Country

It seems that, with various changes and restrictions on trade involving China by the United States, now TikTok is once again in focus as it was a few years ago.

According to the latest WSJ report, it is said that the United States authorities are considering forcing TikTok to sell its social media operations in the country.

It said various security concerns involving US users would be addressed with TikTok's US division being sold – and independent of China-based Bytedance.

However, according to TikTok, the company has been working together for more than two years in various matters involving TikTok in the United States.

Previously, under Donald Trump, TikTok was forced to sell part of its holdings to Oracle. However, it is said that various operations are still being managed by Bytedance for now, leading to data-related concerns.
