Bad news for fans of the iPhone SE series because according to a report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the development of the iPhone SE Gen-4 predicted to be launched in 2024 has been cancelled. Previously, he said the development project was simply delayed.
Two factors contributed to the cancellation of this phone. The first factor is that sales of more affordable iPhones are lower than their flagship models. Last year's iPhone SE Gen-3 sales fell short of targets with production cut dramatically.
The second factor is that originally the iPhone SE 2024 will be equipped with Apple's own designed modem but in the tests carried out so far, its performance is lower than the Qualcomm modem used now. This makes Kuo's prediction good news for Qualcomm, which currently dominates the smartphone modem market in the world market.
