Apple's AR Headset Will Have Finger Tracking And iOS-Like 3D Interface

Apple's AR headset is expected to be unveiled soon with it being the flagship edition after the smart glasses have reportedly been discontinued for the time being. According to a Bloomberg report this morning, Apple's AR headset will soon have a 3D interface similar to iOS and iPadOS.

This is to simplify the use process without having to re-learn the interface after launch. Among the supported features is using it as a secondary monitor from a macOS device. Then keyboard and mouse support can also be done as usual.

The headset, which may use the name Apple Reality Pro, will also have the ability to track fingers and objects to provide a good augmented reality experience. Finger gestures can also be understood by the operating system. Various Apple apps will be natively supported along with some more popular apps.

In the same report, Apple is believed to be working with Disney to bring good video player support for users complete with comprehensive Dolby audio. The bad news for glasses wearers is that the Reality Pro doesn't come with a diopter lens like the HTC Vive XR Elite.

Previously, Bloomerg has reported that Reality Pro will use a 4K LED micro screen, a high-powered Apple M series chip and a battery attached to the wearer's waist to reduce weight and that the headset is unbalanced.
