Malaysian Internet Bandwidth Demand Reaches 1.9 Tbps In December 2022

MyIX now shared that the demand for internet bandwidth in Malaysia continues to increase day by day.

In December 2022 alone, the demand for internet bandwidth in Malaysia reached 1.9 terabytes per second (Tbps) – which shows an increase of up to three times compared to May 2020 (where it was recorded at around 588Gbps back then).

This at the same time shows that the digital economy is increasingly becoming the daily focus of many users - in addition to the high demand for video content, regardless of streaming or video calls.

Internet demand is expected to continue to explode, with the target of the digital economy contributing up to 25.5% of GDP by 2025.
