Microsoft Edge is the third most popular web browser to date according to StatCounter. The popularity of Edge started after Microsoft used Chromium as the basis for their web browser.
Recently Windows Central reported that Microsoft might introduce a brand new Edge. The project was named Project Phoenix to differentiate Edge from competing web browsers. Phoenix will use a parallel design with the Windows 11 theme and integrate many features and functions to be friendly to use with Windows devices.
The most interesting feature tested is dual-view or split-screen, where a web browser can display two tabs simultaneously in the same window. This feature will make it easier for users who value multi-tasking or those who don't like using multiple application windows or additional monitors.
Next is the Tab Activity Center feature, which can display user usage patterns for self-control so as not to obsessively surf the web. Better password manager features may also be included. But for now, Project Phoenix is only being tested internally and it is not yet certain when it will be released to the public.
