Samsung Boss Promises 2 Premium Devices at the Galaxy Unpacked Event

Samsung will hold the Galaxy Unpacked event to introduce the Galaxy S23 series on February 1, 2023. Interestingly, President and Head of MX Business at Samsung Electronics TM Roh promised the presence of two premium devices at this event.

In his blog post, Roh did not provide detailed information about the devices that will be launched by Samsung. He only mentioned the improvements that would be brought in terms of camera and performance.

“The upcoming Galaxy is all about cameras, performance and sustainability,” Roh wrote in his blog post, as quoted by The Verge, Wednesday (18/1/2023).

He added that the camera on the Galaxy device that will be launched will be smarter and the performance will be more powerful. From previous leaks, the Galaxy S23 series is expected to come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

Especially for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, rumors will be the first Samsung cellphone to carry a 200 MP camera. Samsung itself has just announced the ISOCELL HP2 sensor with a resolution of 200 MP which is believed to be used by the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Just like the previous year, Samsung is expected to release three variants of the Galaxy S23, namely the standard, Plus and Ultra variants. Roh however teased that Samsung will be releasing two devices that will set a new premium standard for innovation.

It is not yet known what the second premium device is meant by Roh. But the possibility is the new Galaxy Book considering that Samsung has opened pre-orders for the latest Galaxy S and Galaxy Book.

Finally, Roh emphasized Samsung's commitment to fighting climate change by making devices that are tougher and more durable and using sustainable materials.

"That also means supporting peak performance with years of security and OS updates and simplifying device longevity."
