Android Phones Can Be Used As Web Cameras Like iPhones And Macs

Last year, through macOS Ventura – Apple introduced the Continuity Camera feature that allows the iPhone to be used as a webcam to a MacBook or other Mac device through a special MagSafe mount.

In fact, before Apple introduced Continuity Camera, more or less the same features could already be used through third-party applications such as from Elgato and so on. The same can be done on Android devices as well.

Now according to Mishaal Rahman, Google is developing this feature natively right into Android. Meaning in the future, users will only need a USB-C cable to enable the Android phone to be used as a webcam on a Windows computer and possibly even on a Mac. This feature was popular during the pandemic, so webcams are also supported on Android TV/Google TV.

The disadvantage of Android compared to iPhone and Mac is that Android requires a cable while Apple is wireless. What do you think about this feature? The expected arrival of this feature is on Android 14 later.
