Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra have been officially introduced by Samsung. The Galaxy S23 Ultra, as the best, is equipped with various advantages, such as in the camera sector, which has a resolution of 200 megapixels.
At the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event, TM Roh as President and Head of Mobilee Xperience Business at Samsung Electronics claimed that the Galaxy S always presents breakthroughs in the smartphone world, as well as the Galaxy S23.
The successor to the Galaxy S22 camera is said to be able to take good pictures in all conditions. "With the most impressive pro grade camera, you can take the best photos in any light conditions," said TM Roh.
Both the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra are equipped with 8K video recording at 30 FPS with a wider shot, coupled with AI to analyze human characteristics such as eyes and hair in each individual frame to 'reflect a person's dynamic characteristics'.
The highest version, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, is equipped with 4 rear cameras, namely 12 MP Ultra Wide, 200 MP Wide, 10 MP Telephoto Camera and another 10 MP Telephoto Camera.
"This is our most extraordinary smartphone camera. To show what the Galaxy S23 Ultra's pro-grade camera can do, we collaborated with a world-renowned director and producer, Ridley Scott," said Vice President, Mobile Product Management at Samsung, Drew Blackard .
Ridley Scott, who is known for directing famous films such as Gladiator and The Martian, made films using the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The title of the film is Behold which will be shown. Ridley stated that recording with the Galaxy S23 Ultra was satisfying and also easy to use because of its small size compared to professional film cameras.
"The scary thing is, this small object will take the place of all the (large) cameras," he said. Apart from Ridley Scott, Samsung also worked with a well-known South Korean director, Na Hong Jin, to make films in low light conditions and the results were satisfying.
Indeed, in low light or in other situations that usually make the image blurry, the video is said to remain stable with doubled optical image stabilizer (OIS) in all directions on the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G.
Regarding camera shots, the Galaxy S23 Ultra also has advantages in low light conditions with the Nightography feature. Noise that is usually annoying when taking pictures in low light can be corrected by the latest AI-based image signal processing (ISP) algorithm to sharpen details and colors.
The latest 200 MP Adaptive Pixel on the Galaxy S23 Ultra is said to be able to capture every epic moment with an extraordinary level of precision, supported by pixel binning technology to run various levels of high-resolution processing at one time.
Then, as the front camera becomes increasingly important for communication, the entire Galaxy S23 Series 5G introduces Samsung's first fast autofocus and Super HDR front camera with a jump in capability from 30fps to 60fps for better photo and video results using the front camera.
For users who want control and customization for creativity, the Galaxy S23 Series 5G offers tools such as the Expert RAW application for the experience of taking pictures like using a DSLR camera and photo editing in RAW and JPEG formats without large and heavy photographic equipment.
Then, users can experiment with photo art using the Multiple Exposure feature or capture a sky full of stars with Astrophoto. After downloading the Expert RAW application, Galaxy S23 Series 5G users can now use the Expert RAW feature directly in the Samsung Camera application.
