Hands-on Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G: Superior in Every Way

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G occupies the highest caste among the other Galaxy S23 models, which have just been launched by Samsung. What's the first impression like holding it?

Judging from its boxy design, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Although, there are still differences.

According to Samsung, the curved edges of the Galaxy S23 Ultra's screen have been reduced to make it easier to use with the S Pen stylus. In other words, the screen of the Galaxy S23 Ultra has become flatter so that it is even more comfortable in the hand.

When operated, the Galaxy S23 Ultra feels solid and doesn't feel gambot, even though its size can't be called small.

The screen size is the same as last year, which is 6.8 inches. Other screen specifications remain the same with a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels, 1750 nit brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. There is a small change where the adaptive refresh rate can drop as low as 1Hz in order to save more battery.

Moving on to the innards, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip for Galaxy. This is Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which is specifically optimized for the Galaxy S23 Series. Switching applications or multitasking when trying it, feels smooth and agile and consistent.

Perhaps the most prominent feature of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the main camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels, up from the previous 108 megapixels. The ability of this camera is supported by the processor, where photo processing can be done quickly with satisfactory results.

With such a large resolution, the photos can be maximized and even when cropped, the photos still look clear.

In dark conditions, the photos taken are still attractive because there is an increase in the Nightography feature. According to Samsung, noise that usually interferes when taking pictures in low light conditions is corrected by the latest AI-based image signal processing (ISP) algorithm to sharpen details and colors.

The selfie camera, which has a resolution of 12 megapixels, is also increasingly qualified with a fast autofocus upgrade and the first Super HDR from Samsung with a jump in capability from 30fps to 60fps. The camera is indeed the focus of increasing features in the Galaxy S23 Series.

In addition to photos, video features have also been improved, including being able to record videos that feel more cinematic. There is an increase in 8K video recording at 30fps, with wider angles.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery which should be durable enough to use for a long time, especially with the efficiency provided by the processor.

Hands on at a glance certainly cannot describe the full capabilities of this flagship HP. But it can be said that so far, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G has become the pinnacle of Samsung's premium smartphone achievements. The specifications are really classy. The performance and camera are champions!
