Samsung, Google and Qualcomm announced a collaboration to develop an augmented reality (XR) device. The chip for the XR released by Qualcomm will be matched with the Android operating system by Google and designed by Samsung. Through the collaboration of three major technology companies, a great XR device will be produced.
It's been a long time since Samsung released a Gear VR headset after the collaboration with Oculus (now Meta) was discontinued. Google also stopped development of Google Glass and Carboard but kept ARCore support. Qualcomm continues to offer chips to manufacturers who want to use their products as in the Meta Quest Pro.
No leaked images have been shared and the design of the XR device is still a mystery. But a previous Samsung HMD Odyssey+ augmented reality (AR) headset design might give a hint.
