These 3 hidden WhatsApp tricks are worth a try

WhatsApp has many features to make it easy for users to communicate. However, many of them are hidden, so users rarely use them, even though they are quite interesting.

Reporting from The Sun, there are three hidden tricks on WhatsApp that are worth knowing and trying. What are they?

1. WhatsApp text counter

WhatsApp has a hidden page that you can open to see the true scale of your chat habits.

The data is divided into sent and received, so you can see exactly how you are using WhatsApp.

You will almost certainly get significantly higher received messages, as they are usually heavily influenced by group chats.

But it is very possible that you send more than you receive. That makes you a serious WhatsApp messenger.

To see the text counter on WhatsApp, do the following:

Open the WhatsApp application and tap Settings

Next, tap on Storage and Data

Scroll down until you find Network Usage

At the top you will see the message and the Sent and Received counts

2. Stealth mode

WhatsApp now lets you hide your online status by using "stealth mode".

"Seeing when friends or family are online helps us feel connected to one another," WhatsApp said following the update.

"But we've all experienced the moment when we wanted to check our WhatsApp in private. For when you want to keep your online presence private, we're introducing the ability to choose who can and can't see when you're online."

Here's how to use "stealth mode" on WhatsApp.

Make sure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp.

Open WhatsApp and go to Settings.

Then move to Privacy > Last Seen and online which is under Account.

You'll find a new option at the bottom, "Who can see when I'm online"

Select Nobody or the selected contact

3. Metaverse avatars

A WhatsApp update late last year added a Meta Avatar. You can use your avatar into one of 36 different sticker styles while chatting in the app.

"Your avatar is a digital version of yourself that can be created from billions of different combinations of hairstyles, facial features and clothing," explained WhatsApp.

"Sending an avatar is a fast and fun way to share how you're feeling with friends and family. It can also be a great way to represent yourself without using a real photo so it feels more personal.

"This will be the first time creating an avatar for many people and we will continue to bring styling improvements including lighting, shadows, hair textures and more that will make the avatar even better over time."

It should also be noted that you can set an avatar as a WhatsApp profile picture. To create a WhatsApp avatar, the steps are as follows:

Enter Settings.

Tap Avatars > Create Avatar

Then follow the steps to create an avatar and tap done

If you want to use it as your profile picture, tap Settings, then tap your profile picture.
