Realme has today launched the first commercially available Android device that supports Dyanmic Island-like features. This device is Realme C55 with Mini Capsule feature.
The Realme C55 is a basic device that tries to look premium. It comes with a 6.72″ IPS LCD screen that supports FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chip and paired with 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB memory options. This device also supports virtual memory up to 8GB of additional RAM.
For the camera, Realme uses a configuration of 64MP main camera + 64MP AI camera (64+2 Megapixel) and 8MP selfie camera. The battery is 5000mAh with SuperVOOC 33W fast charging. Realme C55 runs Realme UI 4.0 Android 13 with some features and functions similar to Oppo and OnePlus devices in the premium class.
Mini Capsule support on this device is still under Realme Lab with additional features and functions to be added in future updates. At launch only charging status display support can be used.
Realme C55 also comes in a modern design that is now used by many which is flat on each side, screen and back. There are two round camera bumps and offer two color options which are Sunshower or Rainy Night which has a striped pattern which also gives extra grip to the device.
In Malaysia Realme C55 is sold at a price of RM699 for 6/128 GB and RM799 for 8/256 GB. Pre-orders start today March 28 until March 30 and buyers can get Realme Buds 2 Neo with an additional 6 months warranty for free. Realme will also hold a roadshow in conjunction with the launch of this device from 31 March - 2 April at Sunway Velocity and in Genting Highland on 7 - 9 April.
