Blueshark, a local electric motorcycle manufacturer, today signed an agreement with technology company Grab to empower the use of electric vehicles, especially among their food and goods delivery partners.
According to The Star report, Blueshark and Grab will introduce a program to enable 80,000 food and goods delivery partners who use internal combustion engine motorcycles to switch to Blueshark branded electric motorcycles.
This collaboration is seen to help both companies to promote their ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) efforts, in addition to helping local vehicle users to see and try how it can help in reducing local air pollution.
Blueshark also said that they will introduce two initiatives to help Grab delivery partners to switch to electric motorcycles. First is the R1 Pilot Program where Blueshark will supply 50 Blueshark R1 electric motorcycles for free to be tested by Grab delivery partners.
The second initiative is the Blueshark IOV Motorcycle electric bike development program where they will develop the bike, and sell it to Grab's delivery partners at a special price.
Not only that, those who participate in this program and initiative will receive a pair of motorcycle batteries at a price of RM79 per month for the first six months, after which it will be offered at a price of RM110.
Not only that, for RM139 a month, they will receive BlueSwap Pro's unlimited battery exchange offer for three months at the BlueSwap Battery Station.
This is also part of Grab's commitment to ensure that the company achieves a "carbon neutral" standard by 2024 as part of their promise to be a company that is able to grow sustainably and inclusively.
