Apple, ZTE and Samsung are three companies that offer satellite communication features when there is no cellular network or WiFi. It is very useful in emergency situations. So far this feature has been limited to smartphones only but when it is launched on November 28, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11″ 2024 will be the first tablet with this feature.
The satellite's capabilities are revealed by Huawei through their official Weibo account. In addition to the MatePad Pro 11″ 2024, the Huawei P60, P60 Pro, Mate 50, Mate X3, Mate X3 Pro, Mate Xs 2, and Nova 11 Ultra devices are also given satellite communication capabilities.
Meanwhile other Android manufacturers have yet to offer the same feature. A few weeks ago the Snapdragon Satelite system that was introduced earlier this year faced problems after Qualcomm and Iridium ended their collaboration. Is this feature important before purchasing a device or is it still just a gimmick?
