According to them, this is not a problem, because upgrading from draft WiFi7 to official WiFi7 only requires a software update, and existing WiFi7 routers can already take advantage of this latest wireless internet technology.
WiFi7 comes with support for internet speeds as fast as 40Gbps (5GB/s) and supports frequencies of 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz with longer network distances. In fact, with a 6GHz frequency, the WiFi Alliance says WiFi 7 networks can also be used to leverage technologies such as virtual reality sets and wireless mixed reality with low latency.
It is expected that the official WiFi7 network equipment will go on sale around the middle of next year.
