The Matter 1.2 internet of things device standard was announced last October. Through it home appliances such as robot vacuums, refrigerators, air conditioners, and washing machines will support the standards used by almost all manufacturers. At Haier's latest product launch event in Kuala Lumpur today, the company's Assistant Marketing Director in Malaysia Julian Thean said Matter 1.2 support will be provided in Malaysia in the near future.
Answering the question, Thean said that currently several Haier products already support their HaiSmart internet of things ecosystem. Among those supported by HaiSmart are smart TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators and smart kitchen hoods. Better smart ecosystem support through HaiSmart was first introduced this year and will be expanded to some of their other products in the future.
Haier is one of the first manufacturers of kitchen appliances and home appliances to support the Matter 1.2 standard. The Matter standard was announced last year with support from Amazon, Apple, Google, Huawei, IKEA, Oppo, Signify and SmartThings.
