Montana Blocked From Banning TikTok

Montana became the first state in the United States to ban the operation of TikTok and it will be enforced from January 1, 2024. But the court in Montana now prevents the state government from continuing this intention because it was found to violate the rights established in the constitution and the state government has exceeded the authority given.

TikTok released an official statement pleased with the court's decision to allow Montanans to continue to exercise their right to free speech, generate income and participate in the TikTok community.

Under the original plan, Google and Apple could be fined up to $10,000 a day for allowing apps to be downloaded through their stores. TikTok could also be subject to legal action for the same offence. Individuals who download otherwise will not be prosecuted.
