Some reports already state that TikTok will work with Tokopedia in Indonesia to continue expanding their e-commerce offering in the country with nearly 300 million people. Now, Tokopedia has officially confirmed that they are in discussions with TikTok for e-commerce cooperation.
It is said that it is still at the discussion stage, and the discussion does not involve any takeover or acquisition of shares exceeding 50% by any party.
Previously, Indonesia had banned the TikTok Shop in Indonesia, at the same time making TikTok's e-commerce hopes and plans affected in the country. With this step of cooperation with Tokopedia, it is expected to be able to resume the e-commerce of TikTok in the region.
