Grab and GoTo are now reported to have restarted the discussion process to merge the companies, thus reducing the competition and losses faced by both companies.
For information, Grab, which is famous for offering ride-hailing and food ordering services, is ready to discuss with Gojek from Indonesia to join forces. However, after various discussions - Gojek has chosen to unite with Tokopedia in establishing GoTo Group.
Recently, Tokopedia has also announced a partnership with TikTok for the TikTok Shop – which may lead to discussions with Grab being restarted.
According to a Bloomberg report, there are several possible merger scenarios – including Grab buying a stake in GoTo, or another possible scenario is the division of the national market between the two parties.
It is said that the discussion is still at an early stage. However, at the same time, GoTo also stated that there are no such discussions taking place.
