Samsung Galaxy M55 Launched – Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Chip, 50MP Selfie Camera




Samsung Galaxy M55 5G has been officially launched in Brazil. The phone has some changes in terms of specifications compared to the recently announced Galaxy A55 5G. These include a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processing chip, 45W charging, a 50MP selfie camera and no waterproof rating.



In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G has a body with rounded sides. It is followed by three cameras on the back with an LED Flash provided together. The front panel is flat with a small hole in the middle.


For specifications, the screen is a 6.7″ Super AMOLED FHD+ with a 120Hz refresh rate. Then, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip is used with 8GB of RAM memory and 256GB of storage that can also be expanded with a microSD card up to 1TB. The included 5,000mAh battery can be charged via a USB-C port and 45W fast charging.



In addition, the camera system used consists of 50MP (main) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) for the main and a 50MP selfie. The device also runs the new One UI 6.1 launcher based on Android 14. At the same time, better security updates are provided through Samsung Knox Vault support that can protect data from various cyber attacks.


The device is sold in Brazil at 3,199 Brazilian Real (~RM3,013) with Dark Blue and Green color options. There are still no details about its availability in Malaysia, but the previous generation, the Galaxy M54 5G, was already offered at a price of RM2,099 for one.
