New Microsoft Surface Laptop and Surface Pro With Snapdragon X Chip Launched



Microsoft launched a new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro each equipped with a new Snapdragon X chip. Both are also computers launched under the new Copilot+ PC category that emphasizes artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. Interestingly here it is actually the same as the AI PC category but at this time only devices with Intel chips can use "AI PC".



This 11th edition Surface Pro comes with a 13″ PixelSense Flow OLED screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels and supports touch. It also comes with a choice of Snapdragon X Plus or Snapdragon X Elite chips, memory up to 32GB LPDDR5x RAM and storage up to 1TB Gen 4 SSD. The supplied battery can last up to 14 hours according to Microsoft.



On the back there is a 10MP camera and on the front there is a QHD camera that supports the Windows Hello system. The various AI capabilities supported on this camera will be processed using the NPU built into the processor chip. I/O options are just two USB-C with USB4 support.


Also announced with the Surface Pro is the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard which can operate even when not physically connected. In addition, the Surface Slim Pen stylus can also be used to sketch directly on the screen surface.



The 7th edition Surface Laptop comes with a 13.8″ or 15″ PixelSense Flow screen that supports touch. It also comes with a choice of Snapdragon X Plus or Snapdragon X Elite chips. On the Surface Laptop 15″ model, only the Snapdragon X Elite chip is offered. Memory is up to 32GB LPDDR5x RAM and storage up to 1TB Gen 4 SSD. The supplied battery can last up to 22 hours according to Microsoft.



The FHD front camera supports the Windows Hello system as well as various AI capabilities that are processed using the NPU built into the processor chip. I/O options are 2x USB-C with USB4 support, 1x USB-A 3.1, audio jack and Surface Connect. On the 15″ model there is an additional MicroSDXC card slot.


Microsoft Surface Pro sales price starts from $1000 (~RM 4684) with LCD screen, Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface Laptop starts from $1000 (~RM 4684) with a 13.8″ LCD screen, Snapdragon X plus, 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. Finally, the Flex Keyboard is sold at a price of $450 (~RM 2107).
