The Minister of Communications has now informed that telecommunication companies have been given another 20 days to finalize the process of holding equity in Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB). It is emphasized that this process is part of the mandatory conditions if you want to be involved in the second 5G network.
Previously, it was announced that the second 5G network will be developed after DNB reaches the 80% coverage level. However, it seems that some processes have delayed the matter – including the process of holding equity in the existing DNB.
Sharing further, as of April 30, 2024, the 5G coverage rate in Malaysia has reached 81.5% of populated areas, while its adoption rate has reached 39.2%.
