Xbox App Updated To Be More Mobile Console Friendly

The boom in popularity of mobile consoles such as ROG Ally, Legion Go and MSI Claw that we just reviewed yesterday comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. Among the most notable shortcomings of all mobile consoles is the control-unfriendly interface using the analog stick and directional buttons because applications are developed for use with a mouse.

The Xbox app is currently being updated to resolve this annoying issue. It will have a Jump Back In feature that allows players to continue playing up to the last 9 games launched. If paused, the game will resume at the last moment it was paused. This is a standard feature on Xbox and PlayStation.

The Friends panel is also easier to access using controls without the user touching the screen. With this to see the list of friends who are playing is as easy as accessing the notification panel.

All of these improvements are done to improve the Compact Mode introduced by the Xbox application before. However, these two features are still in the testing stage and can only be tried by Xbox Insider Hub users. Feedback is being collected before the feature is rolled out to all users.
