United States Reportedly Considering Banning Chinese Software And Hardware In Vehicles

The United States government is ready to ban some things involving Chinese technology, and now it appears that the United States authorities will propose to ban Chinese software and hardware from being used on any vehicle on the country's roads.

The United States administration is said to be worried about the collection of data by Chinese companies, involving drivers and infrastructure in the United States, in addition to the various manipulations that can be done.

The ban would also indirectly mean that no connected vehicles from China can be sold in the United States, nor systems or technologies developed by firms based in China.

This new development comes as an extension of the increase in tariffs by the United States up to 100% on the sale of electric cars from China. According to initial reports, this measure is expected to go through several phases, including getting feedback from the public, before being enforced around 2027.
