Due to European government orders, Apple, which has been loyal to the iMessage messaging service, was forced to include RCS support. Apple clearly ignored the development of RCS because support on the iPhone was seen to be included slowly and quietly compared to other features. Recently, Samsung warned its users regarding RCS and iPhones.
RCS allows users to communicate using default messaging applications such as Google Messages with an experience similar to iMessage or WhatsApp. It replaces the concept of SMS and MMS with Internet communication that is universal and works across platforms. However, end-to-end encryption support for message content is supported on Android and not supported on iOS.
RCS is undoubtedly more secure than iMessage, and other applications such as WhatsApp and Signal may also be more secure. In Malaysia, most Android devices already support RCS but need to use Google Messages and the majority of telecommunications companies are already ready to support RCS, but support on the iPhone is still not visible.
