At the Computex Taipei event that took place this week, Acer announced that they will be entering the gadget market soon, and the first device to be introduced in this new gadget series is their first smart ring called the Acer FreeSense Ring.
The FreeSense Ring smart ring is seen to come with many, if not all of the features shown by other smart rings such as the Samsung Galaxy Ring and Oura, where it comes with the ability to track body health details such as heart rate, blood pressure, sleep cycles, daily activity/sports and even menstrual cycles for women.
In terms of activity tracking, Acer says that this ring will support tracking for as many as 24 types of sports when it launches, and unlike other smart rings on the market, Acer will not charge any subscription fees to use the full service of this ring, and will be supported on the Google Android and Apple iOS smart device platforms without any problems.
Meanwhile, Acer says that the FreeSense Smart Ring is made of titanium metal, similar to what is seen on the Samsung Galaxy Ring, and will come in seven sizes, from 7 to 13. It will also come in Rose Gold with a matte finish and black with a glossy color pattern.
Acer has not yet announced when the Acer FreeSense Smart Ring will be introduced, but says that it will come with a much more affordable price tag compared to offerings from existing competitors.
