Fujifilm introduces the X Half, a compact digital camera inspired by half-frame film cameras. The camera combines a classic design with modern technology to provide a more exciting photography experience. Weighing only 240 grams, it is easy to carry anywhere and suitable for everyday use.
The camera design retains classic elements of the Fujifilm X series including the Aperture Ring and Frame Advance Lever that provide a photography experience similar to an analog camera. The 2-in-1 function allows users to combine photos and videos by simply turning the Frame Advance Lever. The X half smartphone app also provides easy editing features including the option to change the size and color of the dividing line between images.
The X half camera comes with 13 film simulations that allow users to achieve visual effects similar to Fujifilm analog film. It also has three new filters inspired by film photography, namely Light Leak, which creates an overexposed effect; Halation, which creates a soft glow around the light source; and Expired Film, which resembles the grainy texture of old film. In addition, this camera also offers eight additional filters from the instax camera series to provide a variety of more interesting visual effects.
In terms of specifications, the X half camera is equipped with a 1-inch CMOS sensor with stacked technology, as well as a 10.8mm (F2.8) fixed lens. This camera is able to produce a viewing angle similar to Fujifilm's QuickSnap disposable film camera. In addition, it is equipped with an optical viewfinder designed for vertical composition of photos and videos.
The camera has two LCD touch screens that allow users to easily change settings. In addition, it offers features such as film grain effects and date stamps on images, making it a suitable choice for those who love classic photography styles and want to add an element of nostalgia to their photos. Fujifilm X Half is expected to go on sale at the end of June 2025 for around $849.99 USD (~RM3,622).
