Microsoft seems to be introducing new models for two of its Surface device series, namely the Microsoft Surface Pro 12 tablet and the Microsoft Surface Laptop 13 laptop with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processing chip that was introduced to the market last year along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite.
Both the Microsoft Surface Pro 12 and Microsoft Surface Laptop 13 devices, through the details that were leaked earlier can be seen as two new models, especially with new display sizes, where the Surface Pro 12 uses a 12-inch PixelSense LCD panel, and the Surface Laptop 13 with a 13-inch PixelSense LCD panel.
Previously, the Surface Pro 9 and 10 models came with a 13-inch screen display, while the Surface Laptop previously came with a 13.5- to 15-inch display option.
As mentioned in the first paragraph, the Microsoft Surface Pro 12 and Microsoft Surface Laptop 13 tablets will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor with eight physical cores, along with 16GB of DDR5 memory and 256GB/512GB storage options.
Interestingly, through the leaked details, the storage for both devices has been changed from SSD to UFS storage. If true, this means that both the Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13 will come with storage performance that is not as good as previous Surface models.
Microsoft will hold an announcement event regarding these new Microsoft Surface devices on May 6, and these two devices will be among the products they will show off. It is also expected that details such as the date and price of the sale of these two devices will be announced at the event.
