DJI is said to be developing a 360-degree action camera that could be called the Osmo 360. This is expected to be DJI's first attempt at offering a 360-degree action camera, a segment currently dominated by Insta360 and GoPro. The leaked images show the camera's design for the first time, which resembles the GoPro Max (2025) and incorporates some elements from the Osmo Action 5 Pro.
While official specifications have not been fully revealed, the leaked information gives a glimpse of the features it may offer. The camera is likely to support 8K video recording at 30 frames per second (FPS), which could be a significant improvement in the existing 360-degree camera segment.
It is also said to be able to record 4K slow-motion video at 120 frames per second to make each recording look smoother. In addition, DJI is reportedly providing a large sensor to attract professional photographers, while focusing on longer battery life for outdoor shooting.
The Osmo 360 is also expected to come with better lens durability and automatic frame re-editing capabilities, which are important features in 360-degree footage. DJI will also prioritize low-light performance to produce clearer images. In addition, the DJI Mimo application will also receive upgrades to ensure the Osmo 360 becomes a more attractive choice among its competitors.
