New Microsoft Surface Laptop 13″ and Surface Pro 12″ Launched With Snapdragon X Plus



Microsoft launched two new devices Surface Laptop 13″ and Surface Pro 12″ with both being Copilot+ PCs equipped with Snapdragon X Plus chips. This brings various artificial intelligence (AI) features that Microsoft says can help users perform daily tasks faster.


Microsoft Surface Laptop 13″ now comes with a new screen size of 13″ with Snapdragon X Plus. This makes it 50% faster than the Surface Laptop 5. The 13″ screen has FHD resolution with touch support. This is matched with up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB SSD storage. The included battery can provide up to 23 hours of video viewing or up to 16 hours of web browsing.


There are also 2x USB-C USB 3.2, 1x USB-A and a 3.5mm audio jack. A fingerprint scanner with Windows Hello is built into the power button. Recharging this laptop is via the USB-C port.


The new Microsoft Surface Pro 12″ comes with a 12″ PixelSense LCD screen that supports touch and the Surface Slim Pen gen 2 stylus. This is paired with a Snapdragon X Plus chip, up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB SSD storage. The included battery can provide up to 16 hours of video viewing or up to 12 hours of web browsing.


There are also 2x USB-C USB 3.2, and a port for connecting the Surface Pro Keyboard. It also supports the NFC system allowing a physical security key system to be used for identity verification. Finally, the stick on the back of this tablet computer allows the device to be laid down up to 165 degrees.


Both Copilot+ PCs will be sold starting May 20 with the Surface Laptop, 13″-inch” starting at $899 (~RM 3798) while the Surface Pro, 12″ starts at $799 (~RM 3376) each.
