The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 Tactical Edition was launched as an Android tablet specifically designed for military use. The tablet is equipped with an 8″ TFT screen, powered by an Exynos 1380 chip, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage and a removable 5050 mAh battery. There is also support for it to be used without a battery by connecting it directly to a power source.
The main camera on the back is 13MP and the front is 5MP. The body of this tablet is quite durable because it passes the IP68 and MIL-STD-810H standards. Because it was produced for military purposes, it has interesting modes such as support for connecting to an external GPS system, connecting to a laser to track distance and supporting a military radio system.
When in the field, all radio systems can be completely turned off so that users do not emit RF signals. In addition, the screen supports goggle mode, night mode and can be integrated with drones. Because it is a tablet, the screen can also be used with the included S Pen.
Although marketed as a tablet for military use, it can also be used by police officers, ambulance personnel and firefighters. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 Tactical Edition is not offered publicly and therefore the selling price has not been disclosed by Samsung.
