SteamOS 3.7.8 Released with AMD Chip Support for ROG Ally and Legion Go

Valve has released the SteamOS 3.7.8 update, which brings AMD chip support. This allows owners of the ROG Ally and Legion Go mobile consoles to switch from Windows to the operating system. Previously, support was only provided in the testing phase with users reporting several issues with the console becoming unstable.

Simultaneously with this update, the Lenovo Legion Go S SteamOS version also officially went on sale after being announced in January. This update has been highly anticipated by mobile console users after Valve announced that they would support SteamOS on the console in addition to the Steam Deck in January.

In addition to AMD chip support, SteamOS 3.7.8 also improves support for third-party game controllers and support for viewing the battery level of Bluetooth devices tethered to the console. For those concerned about battery life, a feature limiting charging to 80% is also provided with this update.
