Volvo First to Integrate Google Gemini in Cars

Google Gemini will be expanded from smartphones to smartwatches, TVs and cars this year. At Google I/O, Volvo officially became the first company to integrate Google Gemini into its vehicles via Android Auto.

Google Gemini was already in use in a Volvo EX90 at Google I/O. Volvo was previously the first company to use Android Auto in a vehicle infotainment system, starting with its Polestar sub-brand. By the end of 2025, Gemini will replace Google Assistant in Volvo vehicles.

The advantage of Gemini is that users can use plain language voice commands to control the vehicle's systems, provide a summary of received messages, provide travel suggestions to points of interest complete with navigation and remember where the car is parked.
