Apple Introduces New Interface Named “Liquid Glass”

Along with the rebranding of the version numbers for the operating system, Apple at WWDC this time introduced a revamp of the interface used in their operating system, making it consistent across all operating systems. This new interface is named by Apple as “Liquid Glass”.

Liquid Glass is seen taking inspiration based on the previous visionOS that powered Apple’s virtual reality set. Through it, as the name suggests, it gives a more or less glass-like effect, along with glass-like and transparent elements on the interface. It is also aligned with a dark or light theme.

In parallel with the introduction of this new interface, various applications under Apple have also been updated with a new design injecting this “Liquid Glass” element. Apple says more elements can be loaded, in addition to the menu section that can be minimized or hidden when not in use – providing a better and more comprehensive on-screen user experience.

With the introduction of this new interface design, we may see changes to various existing applications gradually over the coming days.

For your information, Microsoft previously tried an interface that used more or less the same elements, namely the glass and transparency effect, called Aero Glass through Windows Vista. However, the user reception at that time was quite unimpressive for the interface design. Perhaps on mobile devices, the reception was different.
