The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, which were launched early this morning, come with a full Xbox interface. Through this, the console will boot directly to a special interface like an Xbox console without having to see the standard Windows 11 interface. This will reduce RAM usage by up to 2GB and make the user experience more like a console.
Now, according to a Microsoft spokesperson, the full Xbox interface will also be provided to all Windows 11 mobile consoles that have been launched previously. It will start with the ROG Ally and ROG Ally X first starting next year. The introduction of this feature is to provide competition to SteamOS which can now be used on mobile consoles that previously used Windows 11.
With Valve determined to support more consoles besides Steamdeck, Microsoft cannot let their operating system be challenged. The Xbox interface not only provides a console-like experience, but also allows owners to access the PC Game Pass service and download PC games through third-party game stores such as Battle.net and Steam.
ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will be sold at the end of this year, entering markets where ASUS sells ROG Ally, such as Malaysia.
