Casio has announced that pre-orders for the G-Shock GA-V01 are now open in Malaysia. The new model was first introduced in China in February, and features a unique design inspired by the classic DW-9000 model.
The watch was designed by Tomohito Hamue, a Hong Kong designer with a modern design inspired by the classic model. It comes with a Shock Release Hand, a durable bezel and strap, and a futuristic Y3K display with modern elements.
Y3K stands for Year 3000, which symbolizes a futuristic design with almost science fiction elements. This concept is used in the G-Shock GA-V01 to create a more modern and unique-looking display element.
One of the most unique features is the 3D hour markers that appear to float outside the screen. Like most G-Shock models, the GA-V01 is equipped with shock resistance and water resistance up to 200 meters, suitable for rugged activities. The watch uses a CR2025 battery that can last up to 10 years.
It also has features such as dual LED lights, world time for 48 cities, five daily alarms, a timer, and more. The watch is suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes ranging from 145 to 215mm, and comes in four color options, namely black, purple, green, and silver.
For those interested, pre-orders are now open exclusively on the Crossover Malaysia website and its official store at The Exchange TRX, priced at RM679. Starting July 13, 2025, the GA-V01 will also be available at G-Shock outlets nationwide to allow fans to get their hands on it in more locations.
