The Nexus Mods site has been sold by its owner Robin “Dark0ne” Scott. In a blog post published yesterday, Dark0ne said the site was forced to sell due to the relentless workload since the site began operations 24 years ago.
Nexus Mods has become a hotbed for fans looking to add unofficial content to their PC games. Starting with Morrowind content, it now houses over 700,000 mods that transform Skyrim’s dragon into a Macho Man, add features that were cut in KoTor 2, and allow older games like Fallout 4 to be played on Windows 11 computers.
Although the site has been sold, the identity of the new owner has not been revealed, but rumors suggest it is a Danish company. Dark0ne will still help the site, but will not be involved in day-to-day operations. The new owner has agreed not to change the platform’s values or direction, with the Nexus Mods community being the main focus.
