The competition for the thinnest foldable phone is getting fiercer as Honor is seen ready to challenge Oppo's dominance in this category. Although some claim that the Tecno Spack Slim is thinner with a thickness of only 5.75mm, it should be remembered that the device has not yet been officially commercialized.
Currently, the Oppo Find N5 holds the title of the thinnest foldable phone on the market with a thickness of 8.93mm when folded. However, that position is expected to be taken back by the Honor Magic V5 which will be launched in China on July 2, 2025.
Honor revealed that this new device is only 8.8mm thick when folded, making it thinner than the Find N5. Although the difference is only 0.1mm, it still has an impact in terms of design and comfort of daily use.
Previously, the Magic V2 model had already created history with a thickness that was almost the same as three credit cards. The Magic V5 is seen going further in its efforts to produce a book-type foldable phone that is easier to use, and does not take up space in a bag.
Honor has yet to reveal the official weight of the Magic V5. However, it is expected to compete closely with the X Fold 5, which Vivo claims will be lighter than its predecessor. A global launch for the Magic V5 has yet to be announced, but loyal fans will surely be eagerly awaiting its arrival in international markets.
