Huawei has officially launched the Pura80 series with four different models. As usual, Huawei did not list the processor specifications in detail. However, a day after the launch, a report by Huawei Central confirmed that the series uses the Kirin 9020 chip.
The Kirin 9020 chip, which was used in the Mate70 series last year, is now being reused for the Pura80 Ultra and Pura80 Pro+ models. It is designed by Hisilicon and is equipped with three Taishan cores: 1 core at 2.5GHz (high performance), 3 cores at 2.15GHz (balanced) and 4 cores at 1.6GHz (energy efficiency).
The two main cores in this chip support hyperthreading, which allows each to run two tasks simultaneously. Therefore, some software may display the configuration as 2+6+4 even though the actual arrangement is 1+3+4. In addition, this chip is equipped with a Maleoon 920 GPU operating at 840MHz for smoother graphics performance.
It is currently unclear which chip is used in the Pura80 Pro. It is likely to use the same Kirin 9020 but official confirmation is still needed. Meanwhile, the standard Pura80 model is said to use the Kirin 9020A, which is a variant of the Kirin 9020 with a slightly lower CPU speed.
