In line with the KPDN regulations, Lazada has now started sending reminders to sellers to list in Bahasa Malaysia, ahead of the enforcement starting June 24, 2025.
Under this regulation, all sellers must list their products in Bahasa Malaysia, including for the product title and also its description. Sellers can add other languages if they wish, but all are required to list in Bahasa Malaysia.
Lazada reminds that if sellers fail to comply with this regulation, their product listings will be locked so that they cannot be purchased. In addition, Lazada will also impose a demerit score of up to 48 points on user accounts.
In addition to Lazada, under the KPDN legislation, individual sellers will be fined up to RM50,000 for the first offense or 3 years in prison. Meanwhile, corporate entities will be fined up to RM100,000 for the first offense.
