OpenAI founder Sam Altman today said that Meta has tried to lure employees of his artificial intelligence (AI) company with a $100 million offer to move. Altman added that so far, none of his best employees have taken up Meta's offer. He made this statement on his podcast Uncapped with Jack Altman.
Meta wants to improve its AI capabilities to become the first company to produce artificial general intelligence (AGI). They are rapidly shifting their focus from developing the metaverse to AI, recently investing over $14 billion to acquire a 49% stake in Scale AI. The founder of Scale AI is moving to Meta and leading the Superintelligence team that develops AGI.
