Apple Intelligence's development, which has been facing various issues, is now becoming more critical as the head of the team that developed the basic artificial intelligence (AI) model has been successfully lured by Meta. According to a Bloomberg report, Ruoming Pang, who leads AI development at Apple, was lured to move to Meta for tens of millions of dollars a year.
While at Apple, Ruoming Pang led the team that developed the model used in the Genmoji feature, Priority Notifications and summary of received emails. Pang is another employee of a rival company that Mark Zuckerberg has successfully lured away with a reward worth hundreds of millions.
Last week, Meta Superintelligence Labs was officially established and is led by the former CEO of Scale AI and Safe Superintelligence. OpenAI employees who created ChatGPT and several recent models have also moved to shelter under the Meta umbrella.
