DJI is taking a new step in smart home technology with the announcement of their latest product, the DJI Romo. Romo is the company's first robot vacuum. A short promotional video uploaded to Weibo also confirms the official launch date of Romo on August 6, 2025 in China.
While full technical information has not yet been revealed, the promotional image shows several key design features. Among them is the presence of two front brushes designed to improve the floor cleaning process. However, one thing that catches the eye is the absence of a LiDAR sensor, which is a technology commonly used in modern vacuum robots for the purpose of mapping specific spaces in detail.
In addition, DJI also showed a semi-transparent storage dock in their promotional image, but it is still not certain whether this version will be offered to consumers or not. Although the launch of Romo is expected to focus on the Chinese market initially, DJI has assured that this product will be mass-produced to be offered more openly to consumers.
