Qi2 25W Wireless Charging Standard Announced – Supported by Android and iPhone

The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) this morning announced the Qi2 25W wireless charging standard, which is faster than the previous Qi2 which was only 15W. Qi2 25W will be supported by iPhones and several major Android device manufacturers, according to a statement released by the WPC.

25W wireless charging was previously only supported by MagSafe on iPhones. Meanwhile, manufacturers such as Oppo and Honor use their own wireless standards that charge at 50W. Today's announcement confirms rumors since early this year that Samsung will finally provide higher charging power both wired and wirelessly on its flagship devices by 2026.

Although the standard has only just been announced by the WPC, manufacturers such as Anker, Ugreen, and Baseus have already received early approval for products that will be sold in the near future. Charger products that support Qi2 25W will be sold with the above label.
