Jack Dorsey Is Developing a Messaging App Using Bluetooth – Bitchat

Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey is now sharing that he is developing his own simple messaging app called Bitchat. What distinguishes this app from others is that it operates using the Bluetooth network, allowing users to send and receive messages without cellular or WiFi reception.

This also makes this app usable in close locations, around 100 meters only – based on Bluetooth coverage. This makes this messaging app usable in locations that are often crowded, such as stadiums, concerts, and so on.

This app also brings support for extending coverage more widely through user devices.

Currently, the Bitchat app is still in the testing stage. The test version is available through Apple Testflight which is now full. Jack Dorsey also offers the source code for this app on GitHub.
