The MSI Claw A8, a portable PC console announced in mid-year, has already started selling in the Chinese market. It is the first PC gaming console to use the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, which was previously expected to arrive as a successor to the ASUS ROG Ally X and Lenovo Legion Go first.
The model for the Chinese market is offered with 24GB of LPDDR5X memory and storage and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD that can be swapped according to user needs. It also comes in a white and green chassis.
Recently, it has been reported that pre-orders for the MSI Claw A8 have already opened for markets outside China, specifically Europe, which has shown a price tag of around 976 Euros (~RM4824).
This price tag seems quite expensive, and is comparable to the prices of several mid-range gaming laptops on the market today. However, the expectation is that this console is powerful enough to run computer games at Full HD resolution and high refresh rates on an 8-inch screen display.
For now, we are still waiting for a response from ASUS Malaysia if it will arrive in the local market like the MSI Claw 8 and MSI Claw 8 AI+ before.
