Samsung only provides a maximum of 45W charging on its flagship devices like the Galaxy S25 series. The reason given is that charging at higher power shortens the battery life of devices designed to be used for at least 7 years. In the Galaxy S26 series, faster charging will finally be supported.
In the One UI 8.5 code that is currently being tested, the code for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra shows that it will support 60W charging. It is still not the fastest but at least faster than before. In a tweet sent by Ice Universe, he said that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will still use a 5000 mAh battery.
Samsung is not using a larger battery because their devices are sold in markets that have various restrictions on devices with larger capacities if they want to be shipped by plane. Higher safety tests also mean that they have not increased the battery capacity like manufacturers from China. Strangely, they have also not used SiC batteries because this technology has not been produced by Samsung SDI.
