Sharp Produces Gloves That Allow Users to Feel Touch in VR Worlds

In Ready Player One, players can feel every touch displayed in the virtual world of OASIS. The content of this novel gave Mark Zuckerberg the idea to build Meta Horizon Worlds until the company's name was changed to Meta. Zuckerberg is now more concerned with the race to build artificial general intelligence (AGI) with investment in metagames hard to reduce.

In Japan, Sharp has not yet waved the white flag and they have produced gloves that allow users to feel touch in the VR world. There is a sensor on the end of the glove with haptic vibrations providing the sensation of actually touching objects in the virtual reality world.

All five fingers are equipped with haptic sensors with there also being control buttons and an analog stick between the thumb and index finger. This unconventional design was chosen by Sharp to make it easier for users to remove it if they want to type using a physical keyboard in the real world. Pre-orders have already opened in Japan with a pair of VR Haptic Controllers sold for ¥100,000 (~RM 2877) per pair.
